| I started in 1975 with a Honda Elsinore 125. I was 6'5" and 170 lbs. and skinny as hell. I gained some weight and so I graduated to a Penton 250 and then a KTM 250 MC5. What a difference! It could haul my large ASS down the track at high speeds! I then grew to 6'7" and 250 lbs. and then I was out of it, no matter the bike, I couldn't keep up with the 5'9" 160 lb. guys, it was pure mathematics - not like it mattered to me! But the time I spent at the track, with my buddies is PRICELESS. I'd never give that up. I loved going to the track in the morning, rolling in there and hanging out with the guys. What a great group of people. |

Hey stretch.......I'm going to go out on a limb here.....you stated you raced Pentons back in the day and being that there weren't that many around, I figure you guys that rode them, might have known each other.
I used to go to the track with a neighbor who raced a Penton 125. His name was Billy Hogsett and lived in Sugarland. His number was 16 and rode novice and intermediate. He later rode the open class on a '77 Husky 360CR.
Did you know him? |
